Naomi Watts

 

Naomi Ellen Watts (born 28 September 1968) is a British actress. When her family moved to Australia and Watts made her film debut in For Love Alone (1986). She later appeared on three television series, Hey Dad.. (1990), Brides of Christ(91) as well as Home and Away (91) as well as Flirting (1991). Watts was an unsuccessful actress when she first arrived in the United States. She acted in small-scale movies and eventually became an actress. Her rise to fame internationally was triggered by this part. Watts was later chosen to play a journalist who was tortured in The Ring (2002). For her portrayal of grieving mother in Alejandro film 21 Grams, she was nominated to win an Academy Award for Best Actress. Watts' star power was growing with her appearance in I Heart Huckabees (2004). King Kong (2006), Eastern Promises ((2007)) and The International (2009). For her performance as Maria Bennett in the disaster film The Impossible (2012), Watts got another Academy Award nomination for Best Actress. In the 2010s, she played in films like Birdman (2014) St. Vincent (2014) St. Vincent (2015), While We're Young (2016), The Glass Castle (2017) and Luce (2018). Watts kept her acting career going with blockbuster appearances, including in Divergent (2015-2016).
