Frances Lawless, MNZM ( born on March 29, 1968) is a New Zealand actress and
singer. She is best known for her roles in the role of Xena in the television
series Xena Warrior Princess, as D'Anna Biers in the reimagined Battlestar
Galactica series, and Lucretia in the tv series Spartacus Blood and Sand and
the associated series.Lawless was a regular character as Diane Lewis-Swanson on
the NBC sitcom Parks and Recreation (2012-2015) as well as as Countess Palatine
Ingrid Von Marburg on the WGN America supernatural series Salem (2015). Ruby
was a part of Starz' horror-comedy series Ash vs Evil Dead from 2015 until.
Julie Ryan (nee Haynes), was her mother. She also played Frank Ryan, Mount
Albert Mayor of Mount Albert. She is the fifth of six siblings. This includes
four brothers and a sibling. She stated that her family's size is "this
massive, vast Irish Catholic household". When she was filming in Ireland
for Discovery Channel in 2004, she revealed to Ireland on Sunday that her
father was originally from Quilty in County Clare. At age 10 she was able to
take part in her first show. Then she began secondary school acting. Marist
College, Auckland was where she studied languages. Her "overseas
journey" across Europe as well as Australia at the age of 18, together
with Garth Lawless, who would be her husband. Lawless won the 1989 Mrs New
Zealand contest at 21. Lawless states that she was affected by bulimia when she
was a child however, she was able overcome it.
