Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell, an American television chef and former Institute of Culinary Education instructor she is a popular TV host. Burrell is host of the Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Chef along with being the host of Worst Cooks in America. Her signature spiky blonde hair and pumped-up persona Anne Burrell eliminates the intimidation of restaurant dishes and reveals concise easy-to-master techniques for home cooks on her Food Network series Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. Chef Burrell has also worked at many of the best restaurants that are located in New York, studied the culinary landscape and traditions of Italy and competed in the Food Network's Iron Chef America. As a youngster in Upstate New York Chef Burrell was attracted by the food. She pursued her love of the restaurant industry by enrolling at The Culinary Institute of America following the completion of a bachelor's degree in English and Communication from Canisius College, Buffalo NY. The student says "I enjoyed being a Culinary Institute of America student. I was awed by every minute." There was no way to be able to learn about, practice or do all the things I did. Following graduation, Chef Burrell spent a year in Italy attending the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners while working at La Taverna del Lupo in Umbria and La Bottega del 30 a one-Michelin star restaurant in Tuscany. Burrell gained a greater understanding of Italian culture and cuisine through her travels in Italy and this has affected the way she cooks. Burrell is a celebrity ambassador for the Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation. She also has served on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which aids children with obstacles. As a guest speaker and mentor, she travels around the United States to discuss her love for cooking and work. In her journey to culinary excellence, Anne has often said that I am very fortunate be able to share the passion I have for life with people.
