Robin Gayle
Robin Gayle Wright was born to Gayle
(Gaston) and Freddie Wright, director of national operations at Mary Kay and
Freddie Wright. She was born in San Diego. Her professional journey began when
she was 14 when she began modeling. She worked in Paris, Japan and Paris. After
graduating from high school, she made the decision to become an actor. She was
chosen to be a part of the soap-opera Santa Barbara (1984), which was nominated
three more times for Daytime Emmys. Dane Witherspoon was her fellow cast member,
and she was married to Dane in 1986. Meanwhile, she starred in The Princess
Bride (1987) in the title role. After she left Santa Barbara, she was offered
the lead role in Denial (1990) as well as Jason Patric. In the year 1990, she
appeared in State of Grace (1990) and met actor Sean Penn, by whom she had a
daughter named Dylan Frances, and a son, Hopper Jack. Robin returned to
Hollywood following a break, and landed one of her most memorable roles: Tara
in The Playboys (1992). She was absolutely stunning and amazing. Then, she
appeared in Toys (1992) in the film Toys (1992) in which she starred alongside
Robin Williams. She gave an entertaining performance. Wright appeared in 1994's
blockbuster smash Forrest Gump (1994) with Tom Hanks. Wright was nominated for
the Golden Globe Award in recognition of her performance in the film as Jenny.
She was cast in a small part in The Crossing Guard (1995) that starred Jack
Nicholson. After refusing 14 roles, she was cast in the title role of MGM/UA's
Moll Flanders (1996), directed by Pen Densham, and co-starring Morgan Freeman
and Stockard Channing. She then starred alongside William Hurt in Erin Dignam’s
Loved (1997).
